He had already seen me cycling on my mountain bike and understood my goal: a necklace for your story. He was the first (and the only) who came to me with the question: please can I tell you my story? If you look closely you can see it, his scar that tells the story of donating his kidney to his mother. Would you do it? For Matt from Massachusetts it was more than logical: 'it's my mom!'. The operation was carried out a few weeks before the festival, while this festival had long been planned. His father had said, of course you should go, provided you feel fit. Mom would like nothing more and her recovery does not depend on your presence and 'you have done enough'. So Matt went. On the third day of the festival, his mom in Massachusetts would find out whether the kidney had failed or not. Contact with the outside world is not possible at the festival unless there are medical reasons. So Matt was allowed to call home. Ten minutes after that phone call he came up to me: 'I am so extremely happy!! I just heard my mom is well. He showed his scar and told his story as happily as a child. I am incredibly proud that he insisted on sharing this with me, Matt (and his mother) deserve ten necklaces.
